Craig Brewer - Filmmaker Profile Known primarily for "The Poor and Hungry," Craig is often thought of as pioneer of the Memphis film scene. Armed with a basic digital camcorder, boom mic and computer equipment, Craig produced "The Poor and Hungry," along with a number of short subjects. After selling "The Poor and Hungry" to the Independent Film Channel, Craig next wrote and directed "Hustle & Flow," which won the Audience Award at Sundance and was released this past summer.
