Introduction
My name is John Miller. I am a photographer and writer from the Memphis, Tennessee area. I am actively involved in expanding my horizons, finding new subjects and methods. I have done a great deal of shooting on film, and continue to do so from time to time. I am now working with more advanced digital cameras, including my new Olympus EPL-1 and its Lumix 20mm Prime Lens. My favorite photographic subjects are landscapes, cityscapes and nature. I also love taking photos of people and airliners! When using film, I love shooting with Fujichrome Velvia for color, and Kodak T-Max for black and white. My photo finishing software is Adobe Photoshop. The film lab I use is Memphis Professional Imaging. When working in filmmaking, I use my high-definition Canon HV30, typically shooting in 30 frames progressive. I use Avid Media Composer for editing. I also have a basic Smith-Victor light kit when needed. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, with Certificates in Photography and Writing. I also have taken courses in Cinematography from Maine Media Workshops. These included Film Cinematography and Camera Assistant.
